Honduran Gum Rosin
Tree species:
- Pinus Oocarpa
- Pinus Caribaea
Honduran Gum Rosin (HGR) is a natural resin derived from the Pinus Oocarpa and Pinus Caribaea. HGR from the Oocarpa tree is well-known for its non-crystallizing characteristics.
HGR is produced by tapping the trees, which involves making small incisions in the tree's bark to allow the resin to flow out. This resin is then collected, processed, and purified to yield the final product, which is commonly used in various industries such as adhesives, coatings, inks, and as a component in many other products. Rosin has adhesive properties and is also valued for its ability to modify the properties of materials it is mixed with.
