Sebacic Acid

Sebacic Acid derived from castor oil is considered a renewable and sustainable source of sebacic acid. It offers several advantages, including its biodegradability, non-toxicity, and low environmental impact compared to Sebacic Acid obtained from petroleum-based sources. Sebacic Acid is obtained through the hydrogenation of ricinoleic acid, which is the major component of castor oil. Ricinoleic Acid, found abundantly in castor oil, undergoes a chemical process known as hydrogenation to convert it into Sebacic Acid.

Sebacic Acid can be used in various industrial applications, including the production of nylon, plasticizers, cosmetics, lubricants, adhesives, and textile auxiliaries.
